Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 New Feature - Global Lot Attributes Project

Global Lot Attributes is a new feature which I developed for Oracle EBS R12.2 .

Project Background

In OPM 11i lot was a global entity. Same lot could exist in different location, organizations but all share the same attributes.
With convergence of inventory model in R12, the lot could be maintained in different organizations with different attributes.
This became an issue for OPM customers who upgraded from 11i to R12 and maintained lot at global level in OPM 11i.

New Feature of this Project

• Setup lot attributes as global

Profile “INV: Enable Global Attributes for Lot” is introduced in this Enhancement.
This is a site level profile. Default value is null which equivalent to No. If this profile not is set as Yes, the Lot attributes behaves same as it was in pre-12.2 releases.
This is profile provide user the flexibility of maintain lot as universal or differently cross organizations.
If this profile is enabled, a list of attribute will be considered global, and the attribute will be in sync across organizations.

• Maintain and enforce global lot attribute values in sync across organizations.

During organization transfer, global lot attributes will be copied from source to destination organization.

During Regular Receiving, global attribute value should copy from the same lot that exists in other organizations.

Any changes should be universal and propagate to all organizations where same lot exists.

• Mass Lot Attribute Sync Program

A newly added concurrent program can be used to synchronize the global lot attribute values cross organization

User will select one single organization as source, from where the attribute values will be copied; and select one or multiple destination organizations to which attribute values should be synced.
